“Many bands think that just posting on social media is enough to promote the show,” shares Barbara Wahli of booking agency Barb Rocks. “Few take the time to go to other shows with flyers in hand to network and promote their upcoming show. They forget that you need to go out and meet people to get new people interested in their band and attend shows.”

Martay released her official video for "Hate Me" last month, a song inspired by something her brother said to her when they were younger.

San Jose indie/alternative rockers Life Size Models launched their new website with new content, press quotes, and videos. The band just finished a string of successful Bay Area shows, including a raved about performance at Bottom of the Hill in May. LSM are also going into the studio the record new music, which I personally can't wait to hear.

The online stream of this radio show will launch this weekend and there will be social media notification for all songs that play during the shows. Martay, my soul-sister and recent partner-in-crime in Austin for SXSW, just released her new album Before The Bouquet last Friday! Martay also released her music video for "Aye-Yi-Yay" yesterday, featuring some great choreography in the scenic California desert. Check out what this artistic singer-songwriter from the Central Coast of California has to offer. My personal favorite is "Stick-Up" which tells the story about dangerous romantic entanglement.
Live105 radio just announced that Citabria will be playing the Soundcheck local band stage at BFD on Sat June 10th at Shoreline Amphitheatre! I am proud to announce that Oakland trio Planet Booty, known for their infectious live shows filled with endorphin-fueled electro-funk dance music, have joined the Barb Rocks roster! If you haven't experienced Planet Booty yet, then you're missing out on the most entertaining band the Bay Area has to offer! Not only do their performances pack venues every time they play, but everyone at the show raves about it for days after. Frontman Dylan Germick is a true performer in every sense, engaging the audience with every look and body movement, add in Josh Cantero's powerful, soul-filled vocals, a dash of horns, plus Rob Gwin masterfully holding down the rhythm section, and you have the hardest working three-piece with a big sound that gets the audience dancing until the last unforgettable note. I recently had the front row experience with some Planet Booty grinding on the dance floor, including a sweaty forehead serenade from Dylan, therefore, I can personally guarantee the euphoric feeling one has leaving the show. I cannot rave enough about this talented band that I truly believe will go far. Planet Booty just played two packed SXSW official showcases in Austin last month and are scheduled to play the Oregon Eclipse Festival in August. I am beyond honored to be part of their team and help them achieve their goals. The band is going on tour twice this summer and releasing a new album, so there's a lot of work ahead. San Jose's favorite alternative rockers Skyway View released their official music video for "Made of Glass" just in time for Christmas! The video really shows off the stage personality of the band with live footage from their show earlier this month at Art Boutiki, as well as solo footage from frontman Mr. Kerosene on the streets.
